The Challenge of Climate Change

(Continuous during November 2009)

Lincoln Cathedral

The display in the Cathedral Nave summarises scientific evidence for global warming. It presents the main causes and effects of recent climate change. We are challenged to live sustainably, to demand international agreement to limit global carbon emissions and to support sustainable development in poorer countries.

Christingle Service

This event takes place as part of Sleaford Christmas Market (11am - 5pm) - Stalls & Entertainment in the town centre - Christmas Tree Festival at Methodist Church Northgate - Music and children's activities at Riverside Church - Christingle Service at St Denys' Church at 3pm - Outdoor Carols and lights switched on at approx. 4pm.

Christmas Tree Festival

(From Saturday 5 to Sunday 13 December)

St Mary Magdalene Parish Church, Newark

Different parts of the Newark community have been invited to decorate a Christmas tree in a way that represents themselves. The cathedral-sized church of St Mary's in Newark will stage this community event which is seeking to include well over 40 trees and create a great atmosphere in the lead up to Christmas.

A Christmas Study Day

(Saturday 5 December: 10am - 3pm)

All Saints Church, Nettleham

With Revd Canon Trevor Dennis Vice-Dean of Chester Cathedral. The Christmas Stories. Bring a packed lunch and a pencil. Tea and coffee provided. No charge - donations to cover costs welcome.

Christmas Tree Festival

(Saturday 5 December - Saturday 12 December 10am - 4pm daily)

Kirton Parish Church near Boston

The event will be opened at 9.30am by Boston councillor Mark Simmons. It will feature variety of trees decorated by local business schools societies etc. There will be a raffle a gift stall and a cake stall. Refreshments available. All proceeds to church funds.

Christmas Tree Festival

A fantastic display of 40 Christmas Trees (some with themes) inside the Church. There will also be a Christmas stall which will be selling mince pies and all sorts of other Christmas fayre plus a bran tub for children. A refreshment stall will be selling lots of delicious treats. Free Admission. Donations split between Childline & the Church. Coaches welcome

Lincolnshire Churches Trust Art Exhibition

(Monday 7 December at 2pm until Saturday 12 December at 12pm)

The Community (Exhibition) room at Lincoln Central Library, Free School Lane, Lincoln, LN2 1EZ

The 70 finalists from this year's art competition are exhibiting their work which is based on Lincolnshire's splendid churches. Prizes will be awarded for both adults' and children's work. Some of the work is for sale.

Christmas Tree Spectacular

(Saturday and Sunday 12th 13th and Saturday and Sunday 19th and 20th 11am - 4.30pm)

St Clement of Rome, Fiskerton, Lincoln

Christmas trees to be decorated by organisations from the village. One tree will represent Fiskerton's long history and involvement with two RAF squadrons and the ROC. 49 Squadron are sponsoring this tree. Mulled wine and mince pies - Live Seasonal Music - 12th December visiting organists 19th December local Group Spirit will entertain us.

Advent Art Workshop

All Saints Parish Church, Fosdyke

A fun workshop to encourage young people particularly to develop an interest in Advent Religious Art and providing an opportunity to visit their Church for something other than a formal Service. There will be things to take home things to decorate the Church hot chocolate marshmallows and lots of instructed fun with trained parish volunteers - CRB checked.

Advent Flower Festival, Arts Exhibition & Concert

(Friday 18 - Sunday 20 December inclusive, from 12noon - 4pm each day. Concert: Sunday 20 December at 7pm.)

St Hybald's Church, Hibaldstow nr Brigg

St Hybald's Church and the Church Hall will be open for viewing every day, with refreshments served in the Church Hall, where the art exhibition will also be held. The concert will feature music, sketches and poems, all performed by local artists, young and old. The entrance fee for the concert will be £5 for adults, and £2.50 for children of school age.

Swineshead Christmas Celebrations

(Friday 18 December 6pm-8.30pm)

St.Mary's Church, Church Hall and Swineshead Marketplace.

Christmas celebration with Santa's Sleigh. Dancing and music in the market place. Carols in church with tea coffee and biscuits. Stalls and mulled wine in the church hall and market place and also some fairground rides. A festive family evening.

Nativity Festival

Come along and see the various interpretations of the Nativity by local groups and Churches. Refreshments available.

Christmas Celebration

St Giles Church, Lamb Gardens, Lincoln.

Christmas music with hand-bells, flutes, organs, solos, poems and sing-along carols. Seasonal refreshments follow. A joint service with Lincoln Samaritans, who will receive half the collection. All welcome.
