The display in the Cathedral Nave summarises scientific evidence for global warming. It presents the main causes and effects of recent climate change. We are challenged to live sustainably, to demand international agreement to limit global carbon emissions and to support sustainable development in poorer countries.

Different parts of the Newark community have been invited to decorate a Christmas tree in a way that represents themselves. The cathedral-sized church of St Mary's in Newark will stage this community event which is seeking to include well over 40 trees and create a great atmosphere in the lead up to Christmas.

Christmas Tree Festival

The event will be opened at 9.30am by Boston councillor Mark Simmons. It will feature variety of trees decorated by local business schools societies etc. There will be a raffle a gift stall and a cake stall. Refreshments available. All proceeds to church funds.

Advent Art Workshop

A fun workshop to encourage young people particularly to develop an interest in Advent Religious Art and providing an opportunity to visit their Church for something other than a formal Service. St Hybald's Church and the Church Hall will be open for viewing every day, with refreshments served in the Church Hall, where the art exhibition will also be held. The concert will feature music, sketches and poems, all performed by local artists, young and old. The entrance fee for the concert will be £5 for adults, and £2.50 for children of school age.
