The Revd Dr Bill Goodman, Continuing Ministerial Development Officer, is to become the new Assistant Principal for St Peter’s College, and Director of Ongoing Ministerial Development, in the Diocese of Sheffield.
Speaking of his new appointment, Bill, who has been in post in our diocese since 2014, has said, “I’m excited about the new post, but I do have mixed feelings about the prospect of moving on. My work here has been developing well, and I’ve enjoyed getting to know so many interesting and impressive colleagues. Some important family issues have been a significant factor in this decision.”
Bill trained for ordination at St John’s College, Nottingham, and in his ministry to date he has served in the dioceses of Derby, Wakefield, Leicester and Lincoln, as well spending six years in Ethiopia, where he helped to train church leaders. He is also a regular contributor to Guidelines, the Bible reading resource published by BRF.
Bill is due to begin his new role on Monday, 13th February 2017, with his last day in our diocese being Friday, 10th February 2017. He will be licensed by Bishop Peter Burrows on 28th February 2017 as part of a Shrove Tuesday Lecture day in Sheffield Cathedral.
Pending the appointment of a successor to Bill, all enquiries relating to Continuing Ministerial Development may be directed to Neil Burgess, Ministry Team Leader & Ministerial Development Review Officer. Neil may be contacted by calling 01522 50 40 23 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please join us in congratulating Bill on this new appointment, and please keep Bill and his family in your prayers.
