The Archbishops of Canterbury and York have today written to members of the Church of England's General Synod proposing a "programme for reform and renewal" for the church. The statement comes ahead of the publication of a series of documents proposing reforms to be published on the Church's website this week ahead of the meeting of the General Synod next month.
The report sets out the case for an overhaul of finances and organization for the future of the Church of England and calls for the Church to invest more in building up its presence on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter to get its message across online.
