Associate Rector of Boston Team Ministry appointed

Revd Steve Holt will take up the position next month

Reverend Stephen Holt has been appointed to the post of Associate Rector of Boston Team Ministry. 

He is currently Assistant Curate in the Great Grimsby Team Ministry in the Parish of Great Grimsby. 

Steve has lived in Lincolnshire for the majority of his life having been brought up in Lincoln. Prior to Ordination, he worked in the retail industry. In 2009, he left all that behind and studied for ordination at the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield, West Yorkshire, spending five weeks in Soweto, South Africa. 

In July 2011, Steve was ordained deacon in Grimsby Minster and ordained Priest in July 2012 in Lincoln Cathedral and has spent his curacy has been spent in the Great Grimsby Team Ministry based around Grimsby Minster.

He said: "This has been a wonderful experience providing me with lots of opportunities for community engagement including the local food bank, chairing a local charity for the elderly and as chaplain to Grimsby Crown Court in addition to my liturgical and pastoral role.

"Grimsby as a town has many similarities with Boston and I am looking forward to the next stage in my ministry as I move from North East Lincolnshire to the south of the diocese."

The Archdeacon of Boston, The Venerable Dr Justine Allain Chapman, will preside at the service of licensing on Sunday, 20 July at St Botolph's Church, Boston.
