23 January 2017
The Parish of Boston is to launch a new project titled ‘Boston Connected: Community Table’.
Funded by the Church Urban Fund’s ‘Near Neighbours’ initiative, the parish church is set to offer free hot lunches every Tuesday during February, beginning on 7th February. To be served in the ‘Stump’ Coffee Shop in St Botolph’s Parish Church between 12 and 2pm, everyone is most welcome.
Those wishing to attend a lunch are asked to first collect a free voucher from the shop located in the church. These vouchers will be available from Monday, 23rd January 2017, and each voucher may be exchanged for a meal at one of the Tuesday gatherings during February.
In addition, people are also being asked to bring along and share their favourite ways of eating pancakes. A board will be made available in church, and comments and recipes may be written down and pinned to the board.
Commenting on this project the Team Rector, the Revd Alyson Buxton, has said, “We are delighted to serve the whole community of Boston by hosting the Community Table Project. We hope that through these free shared meals, and the exchanging of recipes, new relationships will be formed, with consequent opportunities for valued and deeper understandings of differences.”
