Boston Stump supports Rotary Shoebox Scheme

25 September 2017

The Parish of Boston has announced that it is to work with The Rotary Club of Boston St Botolph and serve as a base for this years Rotary Shoebox Appeal.

People are invited to visit St Botolphs (Boston Stump) and pick up a shoebox and an explanatory leaflet, with an accompanying invitation to fill the box with toys, toiletries, educational items, or household gifts as a gift to people in another country.

Pictured above are the Chair of the Shoe Box Appeal, Rotarian John Wright, and a fellow Rotarian, Ivan Spencer. Further details on this year’s Rotary Shoebox Scheme is available here, and the accompanying leaflet may be downloaded here:

In some further news, and as reported by the Boston Standard, Boston Stump recently hosted the East Midlands in Bloom Awards.

Speaking about the event, the Revd Alyson Buxton, Team Rector, said: It was an honour and delight to host the East Midlands in Bloom Awards. It was was fabulous to see St Botolphs full of so many people from around the East Midlands  people who volunteer to make their communities better places to live. It raises awareness of the need to take care of our environment, to volunteer and offer our gifts to the community as well as to enjoy beauty.

At times we all need that something extra to lift our spirits. I have heard this described as Hyacinths for the Soul. The Team at the Stump would particularly like to thank Boston in Bloom for providing that for us all here, and isnt it fantastic that they, once again, got the gold!
