Celebrating 35 years of service with Andrew Gosling

22 June 2016

Andrew Gosling (Assets & Trusts Manager) celebrates 35 years of service with the Diocese of Lincoln today.

Originally arriving for a six-month Youth Training Scheme, Andrew has helped many, many people in our parishes during his 35 years of service, and his diocesan colleagues celebrated this special anniversary by surprising him with a special celebration yesterday.

Looking back on 35 years of service to date, Andrew said: "I can’t believe how quickly those 35 years have flown by. I started at the diocesan office on a six-month Youth Training Scheme, looking after the Deed of Covenant system. I remember the installation of the first diocesan computer system and life before emails!

I recall hand writing Tax Deduction Certificates to enable tax to be reclaimed from the Inland Revenue on Deed of Covenant payments and thinking how great it was when these were automatically generated by the new system.

I have had a number of varied and fulfilling roles within the diocese and have worked with some amazing and dedicated people in both the diocesan office and our parishes, who go above and beyond the call of duty. There have been four diocesan bishops and five diocesan secretaries during my time with the diocese, and I am proud to be associated with the Diocese of Lincoln."

After cutting a cake, Andrew was pictured, below, with his card and a gift from his colleagues.
