The Diocese of Lincoln, in partnership with Church Army, has formed a new centre of mission in Scunthorpe.
Working alongside local clergy, the new centre will be led by Church Army evangelist, Sean Andrews, who has extensive experience of working with young people and families, and Paul McDonough. Paul, who will serve as a pioneer evangelist, has formerly served as a youth and community minister in the Diocese of Norwich, and in his ministry he has also worked with the homeless and other marginalised groups.

“We’ll begin outreach on the west side of the city, among the communities of Riddings, Westcliff and Berkeley,” says Sean. “We want to show the people living in these areas that Jesus cares deeply for them and that he’s relevant to their lives.”
Speaking about the new centre, the Rt Revd Dr David Court, Bishop of Grimsby, has commented that “We recognise that we need to develop new ways of being church that may be more appropriate to some of the communities we are here to serve. We’re hoping that our partnership with Church Army will provide fresh opportunities to engage with them.”
Sean and Paul are to be licensed by the Bishop of Lincoln at a service to be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Riddings (Holy Spirit, Willoughby Road, Riddings, Scunthorpe DN17 2JX) on Wednesday, 19th July 2017 at 7.30pm.
