Digital media training day for churches

08 December 2017

undefined

A digital media day for churches is to be held at Edward King House in Lincoln on Tuesday, 16th January 2018 (10am–4pm)

This is a free day to help you and your church explore social media and writing material for parish websites. The training will be led by Amaris Cole (Digital Content and Communications Manager for the Church of England) and will be split into two sessions.

  • The morning session will focus on an introduction to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and cover the latest developments in social media, with advice on how churches might engage with this opportunity to reach existing and new audiences.

  • The afternoon session will include an introduction to the new features of the relaunched A Church Near You (ACNY) and how to write engaging content for an online audience.

The day is particularly tailored for people who are involved with a parish website and a parish’s social media, and attendees should bring their own laptop or tablet device with them (there will be time set aside for practical work).

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, and lunch will be provided.

To book a place please email the Revd Adrian Smith (Communications Officer). Please include contact details, the name of your parish(es) and the address of the parish/benefice website and social media page(s), if applicable. (If your church already has a Facebook page, please ensure that you have been made an administrator of that page prior to the training day.)

We realise that not everyone will be able to attend this event, and so in order to help as many parishes as possible, it is anticipated that Adrian will share this training around the diocese during the year.
