In addition to the publication of many photographs on our social media pages (Facebook and Twitter), Holy Week and Easter has seen a great deal of local and media coverage. A roundup is published below:
The Bishop of Lincoln, the Rt Revd Christopher Lowson, offered his Easter message here, speaking about the great numbers of people who would be gathering in our churches for worship at Easter (scroll along to 39 minutes).
The Dean of Lincoln, the Very Revd Christine Wilson, offered an Easter message to The Lincolnite. This message may be read here. The sermon preached by the Bishop of Lincoln in the Cathedral on Easter Day has been published on the diocese website. To read the text of the sermon, please follow this link
During Holy Week, Paul Russell from BBC Radio Lincolnshire was a visitor to Spring Harvest in Skegness. His report is here (scroll along to 11 minutes and 20 seconds). Paul's report was also featured on Sunday Breakfast on BBC Radio Humberside (from 17 minutes into the programme). On the same programme on BBC Radio Humberside, the Revd Canon Andrew Dodd spoke with Blair Jacobs about a special Dawn Service for Easter Day. It is possible to listen to the item here (from 1 hour, 10 minutes and 14 seconds).
Unfortunately, the church of St Mary's in Hogsthorpe was the subject of some recent press interest after it was discovered that the church had been badly damaged. The Revd Terry Bardell offered BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Rod Whiting an update on the situation and spoke of the local support that had been received to date. To listen to the item, please follow this link (scroll along to 22 minutes and 40 seconds).
Also taking part in the programme broadcast on Easter Day was the Revd Canon John Patrick, Subdean of Lincoln, who was invited to review the Sunday newspapers. John may be heard here (from 1 hour and 10 minutes into the programme).
Easter Sunday Special: Religion in Rural Life was the title of a feature on the Sunday programme on BBC Radio 4 on Easter Day. As part of the programme, a reporter visited the Gilbertine Benefice and the village of Aslackby, where he spoke with the Revd Anna Sorensen and people from the benefice. The programme is available on the BBC website here (the section on the Diocese of Lincoln may be found from 6 minutes and 38 seconds into the programme).
Readers of The Local newspaper in the Bourne area may also have seen extensive coverage of Holy Week and Easter services held at Bourne Abbey.
