The Junior Choir at All Saints Church in Holbeach is to take part in a ‘Sponsored Stable Sleepover’ on the evening of Friday, 22nd December. The choir will be supporting the church’s Christmas charity, Crisis, and they plan to go carol singing after that evening’s choir practice prior to retiring to the church for games and supper and then sleeping in their ‘stable’ for the night (the church’s north porch).
The choir was also busy during the summer, working with Linda Beverley-Stone to create a set of Papier-mâché nativity figures. Each of the figures is approximately four-feet high, and they were introduced at the church’s St Nicholas Fayre held on Saturday, 2nd and Sunday, 3rd December. On the Sunday afternoon, the figures came into the church during the Christingle service so that they might be sent on their ‘journey to Bethlehem’. During Advent, the figures are making their way around the church, before arriving at the north porch on Christmas Eve after the Crib Service.
Further details on services at All Saints, including cinema-style ratings to help people of all ages select which services they might wish to attend, may be found on the church website.
