Members of the congregations of St Wulfram’s, Grantham and St John the Evangelist, Manthorpe have taken up the opportunity to provide contributions for a book of daily reflections for Lent and Holy Week.
Lent Reflections 2017 offers readers daily reflections on a passage of scripture for Lent and Holy Week, and is accompanied by a booklet detailing local events, activities and services for Lent, Holy Week and Easter at the two churches.
Some of the activities on offer as part of a Lenten discipline include art and photography, knitting, woodwork (participants will have the opportunity to make a holding cross) and the study of St John’s Gospel. In addition, the local clergy of Fr Stuart Cradduck (Rector of St Wulfram’s and Vicar of St John the Evangelist) and Fr James Robinson (Assistant Curate) are also offering ‘Spiritual MOTs’, an opportunity for people to talk through their relationship with God and receive some help and advice.
Speaking with reference to the publication of the book of Lent reflections, Fr Stuart Cradduck said, “I’m delighted that our congregations took up this challenge. I’m very proud of both the way the congregation rose to the challenge and how they have responded prayerfully. I am confident that we are continuing to grow in our discipleship and our confidence in our faith.”
