The Revd Sonia Barron (Rector of the Claypole Benefice and Rural Dean of Loveden Deanery) is set to embark on a sponsored walk as part of an effort to raise funds for the installation of toilet facilities at St Peter’s Church in Claypole.
The first phase of the Claypole Church and Community Project, Sonia is to walk from Lincoln Cathedral to the parish church on Monday, 24th July 2017, and, during the final stage of the walk, which will be from Brant Broughton to Claypole, she will be joined by the Bishop of Grantham.
As the Sonia’s Big Walk JustGiving page states, ‘...In addition to regular Sunday worship, we are seeking to restore the church’s presence as the centre of the community and for wider, more regular, community use to fulfill the vision of the Church to be hospitable, generous and having Christian distinctiveness... We desire to serve our local community with hospitality, generosity, hope and neighbourliness. So through this project we want to ensure that, as custodians of this building, it is available and accessible to everyone for the foreseeable future’.
Further information, including an opportunity to sponsor Sonia, may be found here.
