United Society Partners in the Gospel (USPG) has been hosting a series of Regional Days around the country, and the latest event was held at the Church of the Ascension in Grantham (pictured above).
People from around the diocese and further afield gathered to hear more about USPG resources, which include study courses, a prayer diary and a magazine, that are currently available to individuals and parishes (further details are available here), and also presentations with reference to global mission.
Margaret Burkett spoke about her experiences following a placement to help teach agriculture in the Gambia, and Rebecca Woollgar (Volunteering Manager, USPG) shared reflections following time spent in two dioceses in Brazil. Part of the day was also spent in hearing more about USPG’s work in the area of climate justice and the recent visit of Archbishop Winston Halapua (see here for more), and also a new direct-giving scheme that is titled Partners in Mission (see here for more information).
The day concluded with details of how individuals and parishes might hear more about the work of USPG, and also a forthcoming conference, Rethinking Mission, which is to be held in Birmingham Cathedral on Saturday, 17th March 2018 (more details are available here).
