Week of Guided Prayer described as 'wonderful'

15 September 2017

Canon Stephen Hoy reflects on a Week of Guided Prayer in the parishes of Nettleham and Riseholme in the Deanery of Lawres...

“The week completely blew me away. I never thought it would have such an effect on me.”

“This week has been transforming and reviving.”

“A wonderful experience – it has really helped me discover my calling.”

“I can’t believe what a difference this week has made to my relationship with God and to my prayer life.”

“A real time of transformation for me – wonderful.”

“This experience has been a real gift to me and to our parish.”

These are just some of the comments made by participants following a Week of Guided Prayer held in the parishes of Nettleham and Riseholme. The week, which was led by Canon Stephen Hoy, diocesan spirituality adviser, and supported by a team of experienced prayer guides, invited people to spend 30 minutes in prayer each day, followed by a daily individual meeting with one of the prayer guides. Fourteen people took part, and they are now keen to maintain the momentum of prayer they experienced during the week.

If your parish or benefice would be interested in putting on a Week of Guided Prayer, please contact Stephen on 01522 52 56 21 or via email.
