West window ready to shine for Christmas

19 December 2017

We were very pleased to receive the following news from The Friends of St Wulfram’s Church in Grantham...

After a major fundraising effort to repair the spire of Saint Wulfram’s, it was then found that another large sum of money was required to repair the great west window in the south aisle.

The Friends of Saint Wulfram’s Church dug deep into their resources and were pleased to assist in the cost of the repairs, with the provision of a grant of £16,000.

The cheque was handed to the Rector of Grantham, Fr Suart Cradduck, by the Treasuer of the Friends, Mr Peter Townsend, at a short ceremony in front of the west window on Monday, 18th December, 2017.

The window, which has been swathed in scaffolding for some weeks, has now been repaired and refurbished. As a result, the magnificent west front of Saint Wulfram’s will shine out again in its full glory this Christmas.

Fr Stuart is pictured with Mr Peter Townsend and also with members of the Friend’s Committee, Miss Jill Speechley and Mrs Jean Parker (Secretary).
