The Revd Michelle Godbold, Diocesan Adviser in Women’s Ministry, writes...
All are invited to come and join in a special diocesan Service of Celebration of Women’s Ministry on Tuesday, 10th October 2017, at St Denys’ Church in Sleaford (7.30pm).
This service will be a joyous celebration of all areas of women’s ministry, lay and ordained, as we commemorate the 30th anniversary of the ordination of women to the diaconate, 25 years since General Synod voted in favour of ordaining women to the priesthood, and 100 years since the first woman was consecrated into the congregational church in the UK.
No matter your gender or denomination, everyone is welcome, and light refreshments will follow the service. For further information, or to indicate your attendance (to give an indication of numbers for catering requirements), please contact the Revd Michelle Godbold, Diocesan Adviser in Women’s Ministry, via email (it would be helpful if this could be done by Friday, 29th September 2017).
In addition, the Revd Rhona Knight (Assistant Curate, St Denys, Sleaford) has advised that a ‘Retreat Day for Ladies’ is to be held at St Denys’ Church and Hall on Saturday, 9th December 2017 (9.30am–4pm).
It is said that, in the midst of all the preparations for Christmas, the day will provide ‘time and space for stillness and reflection’. Different forms of creative art will offer attendees the opportunity to explore the theme of O Come, O come Emmanuel, and further information, including a booking form, may be found by clicking on the document published below.
