19 April 2017
A faiths festival that aims to ‘celebrate the diversity of Lincoln’s faith communities and their contribution to the wider community’ and to help people ‘increase their religious literacy’ is to get underway this Friday (21st April 2017).
Part of the festival will include an evening event titled Faith and Belief in Turbulent Times, which is to be held on Wednesday, 26th April 2017 at the Jackson Lecture Theatre (Minerva Building) at the University of Lincoln (7pm for 7.30pm). An invited guest panel will explore this important issue and take questions from the floor, and attendees are asked to confirm their attendance by registering via Eventbrite.
Further information on Lincoln Faiths Festival may be obtained by visiting the festival website.
A further, separate event taking place this weekend is a book signing scheduled for Saturday (22nd April 2017). The Revd Dr Geoffrey Harris will be signing copies of his latest work, Ocean of Love or Sea of Troubles? Can We Find God in a Suffering World?, at Lincoln Central Library between 10.30am and 2pm on Saturday. This event will offer people an opportunity to buy the book, chat to the author and enjoy some light refreshments. (Look out for a review of the book in the May/June 2017 issue of Crosslincs.)
