Bishop Christopher has been speaking to BBC local radio ahead of this weekend’s Learning Communities launch service (Saturday, 3rd February 2018 at 11am).
As has been widely publicised, this occasion will offer a great opportunity for as much of the diocesan family as possible to come together and celebrate our commitment to serve in the many contexts for mission that are to be found in greater Lincolnshire.
To symbolise something of this, many of the elements of the service, such as the music, the readings and the prayers, will be led by people from churches from around the diocese, and Bishop Christopher will preside at the Eucharist.
A lunch will follow the service, and with this in mind we are asking people to please book a free ticket in advance so as to offer us an idea of numbers for catering (please click here for tickets).
Further information on Learning Communities may be found here, and it is possible to listen to BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Rod Whiting in conversation with Bishop Christopher here (the interview begins 40 minutes into the programme).
In addition, and for those who are able to stay on in Lincoln after the service and lunch, nine new canons are to be collated and installed at a service of Evensong at 5.30pm. At the same service, the Revd Dr Paul Overend will be installed as Chancellor of Lincoln. All are welcome to attend, and more information may be found here.
Edward King House will be open between the two services to offer people space for rest and refreshment.
