As mentioned in last week’s e-Bulletin, a solo dramatisation of Mark’s Gospel is to take place on the High Street in Lincoln on Saturday, 29th July (1pm).
To be held at Lincoln Speaker’s Corner (near St Benedict’s), it is said that Stefan Smart has been learning bits of Mark’s Gospel since 2008. As he says, “When I started rehearsing for this production I had no idea what it would do for me, apart from being enormous fun and giving me a great sense of fulfilment as an actor. It’s clear to me now that God’s word is dangerous stuff! It can knock you off course in the most thrilling and comforting ways. It can drive home – straight to the heart – a personal ‘word’ that is for you and for you alone. It can bring your faith alive. I hope you will be riveted too!”
It is said that Stefan has since finished memorising and rehearsing all 11,000 words of Mark’s Gospel, taking his performance to parks, festivals, churches and schools. More details on Mark in the Park are available here.
