Sharing in prayer: Petertide ordinations

19 June 2017

undefinedundefined

The Bishop of Lincoln is set to ordain seven deacons and 10 priests at Petertide in Lincoln Cathedral (Saturday, 1st and Sunday, 2nd July 2017).

Those to be ordained to the diaconate and the priesthood will gather for their Petertide ordination retreat from Thursday, 29th June so as to familiarise themselves with the ordination service, to receive the Bishops Charge, make their oaths and enter into a time of silent retreat. The retreat conductor and preacher at the ordination services is to be the Very Revd Michael Sadgrove, Dean Emeritus of Durham.

Please hold those to be ordained and all those involved with the ordination services in your prayers. As an aid to prayer, a downloadable Ember Card has been produced, which includes the names of those to be ordained and the parishes they will serve. This may be downloaded here:

The service for the ordination of priests will take place at 5.30pm on Saturday, 1st July, with the service for the ordination of deacons to follow at 10.30am on Sunday, 2nd July. All are welcome to join the main congregation in the Cathedral on these special occasions in the life of our diocese.
