Church Buildings (DAC)

The Diocese of Lincoln is blessed with some 738 churches, 644 of which are regularly used for worship. The diocese has two committees that help to maintain and cherish these beautiful churches – the Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC) and the Closed Churches Uses Committee (CCUC).

The DAC relates to all churches that are regularly used for worship. The DAC will be the first port of call for many enquiries regarding the ongoing care and maintenance of church buildings, such as questions about repair, re-ordering and/or extensions. The DAC can offer advice about finding an approved architect to undertake quinquennial inspections and it also acts as the statutory body advising the Chancellor and Archdeacons of the diocese regarding the granting of Faculties for works to be undertaken to church buildings. The links in the left-hand panel provide much greater detail about the work of the DAC.

The remaining meetings of the DAC in 2017 are as follows:
Tuesday, 25th April
Wednesday, 7th June
Tuesday, 18th July
Tuesday, 5th September
Wednesday, 11th October
Thursday, 14th December
