Churchwardens

The role of the churchwardens is set out in statute - which is why each year the churchwardens must complete and return their annual declaration form, and then be sworn into office by an archdeacon (usually at a Visitation service).

The role is entirely voluntary, and carries with it great responsibility. We are extremely grateful to all our churchwardens for the care and dedication they show to our rich heritage of church buildings in the Diocese of Lincoln, and to the, often unnoticed, support they give to clergy, Church and congregations.

To help churchwardens fulfil their duties, we try to offer every support we can - from training events to fact sheets. Below are some documents we think you might find useful, and to the left you will see more options for links to helpful information. If you think there is something we have missed, please let us know.

Thank you for all that you do.
