South Kesteven District Council is organising the Bourne CiCLE Festival which will take place across a significant part of the district over the weekend of the 31st August – 1st September. The centre of activity will be in middle of Bourne.

The weekend will feature BMX’ing, skateboarding, vintage cycling, penny farthings, catering and entertainment. A 'Sportive' event will be held on Saturday 31st for cyclists of all types - novice or experienced, young or old to enjoy group cycling in a controlled environment through the South Kesteven District countryside, taking in many of the roads that the professionals will race later.

With the exception of West Street in Bourne there will be no road closures.  The cyclists or peloton will be moving as a rolling road closure ensuring the absolute minimum of inconvenience to residents.

The event organises hope that communities will embrace the opportunity that this event presents and come together perhaps decorating the route and organising bbq’s or village picnics.
