Thy Kingdom Come is a worldwide prayer movement that takes place between Ascension and Pentecost (Thursday, May 30th to Sunday, 9th June).

As Jesus ascended, he promised the gift of the Holy Spirit to enable the disciples to be witnesses. As those first followers waited for the promise to be fulfilled they devoted themselves to prayer. During Thy Kingdom Come the call is again to ask people to pray.

The event will run from 10.00am until 12.15pm (with an optional Eucharist at 12.30).

All sorts of creative ways of praying for the renewal of our diocese will be on offer, with a chance to move round and sample different prayer stations, as well as joining in prayer and worship collectively.

The morning will also see the official launch of the Community of St Hugh, our own diocesan prayer community of Christians who commit to praying regularly for the mission of the Church in Greater Lincolnshire.

Do bring as many people as you can from your church or your family to experience a variety of fun and fast-moving ways of praying, or enjoy the peace of this building in which prayer has been offered for centuries.

More information can be found on the Thy Kingdom Come website. It has a large number of prayer resources you can download free of charge or you can obtain some items through the Mission team at Edward King House. Please phone Marie Isaac, Mission Team Administrator on 01522 50 40 22.

If you or your church are holding a prayer event you can register this onto the Light Up the World webpage and see the light spread through the darkness.
