Have you ever had that feeling that something might be tugging at your life and you didn’t know what it is?

Have you ever had that moment when you thought all along that God called other people but not someone like you?

Have you ever had that moment when you finally thought that it might be that God was steering you towards something?

...and you didn’t know what to do or where to go?

It happens to more people than you think and no, you are not going mad; it might be that something important is happening to you.

Why not come along to this Vocations Day and meet some others who are asking the same questions and feeling unsure of what to do next; what steps to take; which way to go.

There will be a chance to hear others speak of how it was for them when they first sensed this idea of ‘being called’ and how they went about handling it. There will be the chance to ask questions about what might be involved in discerning a calling, what sort of training exists for those who want to move forward and what kind of ongoing support there will be after that.

Come and find out more at the Lincoln Diocesan Vocations Day on Saturday, 4th May 2019 at St Luke’s Church, Birchwood, Lincoln.

The current programme for the day is as follows:

10.30am – Arrivals and coffee

10.50am – Welcome, notices and outline of the day

11am – How did it all start and what happened then? What is it like to wonder if God is calling? Who do you tell? How does it feel? How can we begin to talk about it?

11.40am – Small group conversations. How do I know I am called by God?

12 noon – So what is it like being ordained and keeping up the day job? Feeling a call to the religious life? Or a call to ordained ministry in your local home community? How about a lay preaching ministry as a trained reader? Have you ever wondered about being a distinctive deacon and what that means, or going ‘full time’ as an ordained or lay person? What is an authorised lay minister (ALM)? All is revealed!

1pm – Questions to the panel

1.15pm – Lunch. Bring a sandwich. Drinks provided.

1.45pm – I’m not academic and I’m nervous about the training!

2.45pm – Questions for the team and what next?

3pm – Closing prayers and depart.
