As part of the celebrations and commemorations for the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, Paul Cragg (pictured below) has shared details of a sponsored walk that will visit all eight places of worship in the parishes of Saxilby and Stow:

The event challenge (hence the sponsorship) is to walk the total distance of 49.8km, or 31 miles, within 12 hours (7am to 7pm), having a card stamped at each village on Saturday, 20th June 2020.

The event is open to anyone who wishes to participate and be sponsored in as much or as little of the journey, as they wish.

The walk can be found on Ordnance Survey OS Explorer 271 (Newark-on Trent), although maps for the walk will be provided, indicating distances and approximate walking times.

Sponsorship raised is to be divided 50/50 between the two parishes and the Royal British Legion.

Sponsorship forms will be available from 1st March 2020.

Please note there is a registration fee of £2 per person, to cover administration.
