A celebration of lay ministries - 27th October 2018 As published in the July/August 2018 issue of Crosslincs, Lincoln Cathedral will provide the setting for a Celebration of Lay Ministries on Saturday, 27th October 2018 (9.30–11.30am). For all that has been, Thanks. For all that shall be, Yes. As Sally Buck, Warden of Lay Ministry, writes... The morning will be framed within Common Worship Morning Prayer, with music that helps us express our thanksgiving and commitment to future ministries. We will hear and celebrate the story of lay ministries in our diocese (‘For all that has been, Thanks’). We will also look to the future, considering how vocations to lay ministries enable our worship, discipleship and service. And, together with four Readers who will be licensed during the service, we will re-commit ourselves to the ministry God has called each one of us to – whatever that might be (‘For all that shall be, Yes’). Please book tickets by following this link. This website allows you to book numbers of tickets, so please feel free to book for family and friends along with your ticket. No ticket is needed for entry to the cathedral. Booking is purely so that the cathedral can plan accurately for numbers attending. Light refreshments (cake and cold drinks) will be served in the cathedral at 11.30am. If you would like a hot drink please feel free to bring a flask with you (for yourself or to share with others). The cathedral’s Holy Communion service will take place at 12.30pm. All are welcome to stay for this. Please email me if you will be staying (again so numbers can accurately be catered for). I look forward to sharing this event with many of you.
