Members of the Community of St Hugh filled St Hugh’s Chapel at Edward King House in Lincoln during a Quiet Morning on Saturday, 28th April 2018.

Attended by more than 40 members of the pilot phase of the community, the morning included reflections on prayer offered by John Leach (diocesan Developing Discipleship Adviser & Trainer), archdeaconry-based discussions on the pilot phase to date, and time for quiet reflection and prayer, before the morning was brought to a close in a time of worship and then lunch and conversation.

The Community of St Hugh is a community called to pray in, with and for our diocese. Members of the community are encouraged to develop a rule of life based around three headings, and in line with our diocesan priorities of

  •  worship
  •  discipleship
  •  service

but also develop their own detailed patterns in response to these headings. Each member is encouraged to give time to discerning through prayer how they might respond to each heading.

The community remains in a pilot stage ahead of an anticipated launch later this year. Information and resources relating to the Community of St Hugh may be found here.
