Canon Stephen Hoy, Diocesan Spirituality Adviser, writes...

Margaret Silf, the internationally renowned Christian writer, led a day on Ignatian spirituality at Lincoln Cathedral Centre on Saturday, 17th March 2018.

Despite the threat of snow, over 40 people from across the diocese attended the day at which Margaret took them on a journey through the life of St Ignatius of Loyola, highlighting on the way many aspects of his spirituality and how it is used and interpreted today.

Fitting in the day in Lincoln between engagements in Taunton and Australia, Margaret was pleased to be able to connect with some childhood roots in the county. Her presentation was warmly welcomed by participants: “What a wonderful day – I learnt so much from Margaret”; “I have read many of Margaret’s books, so it was a real pleasure to hear her speak”; “I came with very little knowledge of Ignatian spirituality, but this day has inspired me to find out more”.

The day with Margaret Silf is one of several spirituality events being held up to the summer.
