Holy Week and Easter in the Uffington Group Here is a selection of photographs kindly send to Carole Martin, PCC Administrator taken between Good Friday and Easter Sunday in the Uffington Group. L-R St Michael & All Angels in Uffington on Easter Sunday; the decorated cross at St Andrew the Apostle in West Deeping and the three crosses at St Michael & All Angels on Good Friday. Carole writes: Good Friday (right) - Particularly poignant and commented on was the sight of three crosses standing by the East Window of St Michael and All Angels, Uffington. The village streets would normally witness the emotional procession of the cross were silent, but those out for their morning ‘allowed’ exercise could be seen glancing up at the large east window pausing to remember the starkness of the day. Easter Sunday (left) – Decorated Cross - standing by the East Window of St Michael and All Angels, Uffington. By contrast the children’s colourful cross, (made with help and with due consideration to social distancing) helped spread the message of joy and hope on Easter Sunday morning. St Andrew the Apostle in West Deeping (centre) – A photograph taken by the churchwarden of West Deeping of the now decorated cross outside the church where folks had placed a community message or flowers upon it when passing on their daily exercise, people brought their own tags or there were spare untouched tags at the church, consideration was paid to social distancing at all times.
