News and events Stories Lunchtime Concerts return to All Saints' Church in Gainsborough All Saints’ Church in Gainsborough will be the venue for a series of lunchtime concerts to be held on Tuesdays during the months of July and August. It is said that the concerts were introduced in 1992 to ‘bring live music to visitors and local people who are in the town for work or shopping on market day. The initial concerts were well received and have developed into an annual series of which this [2018] is the twenty-seventh’. The concerts begin at 1.05pm and the programme is as follows: 24th JulyCharles Edmondson – Piano& Barbara Tune – Violin 31st JulySilver Wood – Music for flute and strings 7th AugustStephen Hopwood – Piano 14th August‘Three Piece Suite’Jonathan Rider – FluteSally Cookson – FluteJames Fox – Piano 21st AugustSimon Corner – Popular Organ Pieces 28th AugustNeil Atkinson – ClarinetMary Holborrow – PianoChristopher Atkinson – Clarinet & PianoMartin Kerridge – Clarinet Admission to the concerts is free. There will be a retiring collection. All Saints’ Church is open daily to visitors and for quiet prayer, and more information may be obtained from the parish website.
