Lincoln Cathedral hosted a very successful Macmillan Coffee Morning recently, raising £526.82 in just two hours for local Macmillan group The Merry Macs of Lincoln.

The coffee morning was a collaboration between Lincoln Cathedral, the Diocese of Lincoln, The Lincoln Tea and Coffee Company, who provided all the drinks, and The Merry Macs.

Supporting the event were Bishop Christopher and Bishop David, together with the Dean of the Cathedral, the Very Revd Christine Wilson, and Kay Clayton, from the Diocese of Lincoln, who have both personally been touched by the help of Macmillan and wanted to support this excellent charity.

Talented bakers from the diocesan offices at Edward King House impressed everyone with their cake making skills with an amazing array of temptations.

Kay Clayton said: “We are absolutely delighted the coffee morning was such a success and are already planning next year’s event. Macmillan is such a fantastic charity, which offers such valuable services and support to so many and we are proud to support this very worthy day.”

“This money will be spent locally to help fund vital support and services” said Fiona of The Merry Macs.
