The Revd Canon Chris Lilley will be leading a pilgrimage to the Holy Land together with a visit to Petra in Jordan between Tuesday 23 November and Thursday 2 December 2021.

The three days in Jordan is an optional extra visiting the Dead Sea (for a float), Mount Masada and Qumram on route to Madaba, Mount Nebo and a full day in Petra, the “rose red city half as old as time”.

The pilgrimage begins in Bethlehem with visits to the ancient Church of the Nativity and to the Shepherds Fields. We then travel north to the magnificent Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth and visit the 'wedding church' in Cana. We enjoy a wonderful day around the Sea of Galilee including a boat ride as we relive the events of Jesus’ lakeside ministry. Returning south we ascend Mount Tabor to visit the Church of the Transfiguration and then descend the Jordan valley with an opportunity to renew our baptismal vows  and tour Jericho with  a cable car ride up to the Mount of Temptation.

Three days in Jerusalem follow as we see all the sites and walk the Via Dolorosa in the Old City.
