A recent conference hosted by the diocesan Church Buildings Team has been described as a great success.

The fully booked event, held on 21st April at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln, offered an opportunity for people from around the diocese to meet together and to hear from a range of speakers and take part in a series of workshops.

After an opening address from Bishop Christopher, the first speaker was Diana Evans (Head of Places of Worship and Owners Advice, Government Advice Team, Historic England), and further contributions were made by Becky Clark (Director of Churches and Cathedrals, Secretary of the Church Buildings Council and Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England) and Lesley Owen-Jones (Development Manager, Heritage Lottery Fund East Midlands).

Looking back at the conference, Fran Bell, diocesan Church Development Officer, said: “The conference was a joyful occasion where so many could come together to explore ideas, realise they were not alone in trying to keep our fantastic church buildings going and know that support is available. The Church Buildings Team would like to thank everyone who came for making it such a worthwhile and enthusiastic event.”

Members of the diocesan Church Buildings Team will be present to offer advice and information in the diocesan marquee at this year’s Lincolnshire Show (20th and 21st June).
