News and events Stories Sharing the Easter story on supermarket shelves The Meaningful Chocolate Company Ltd reports that ASDA is the latest supermarket to stock The Real Easter Egg, a product which comes with a copy of the Easter story in the box. They join Tesco, Morrisons and Waitrose in putting the Easter story on their shelves this year, and it is said that ASDA’s decision comes as a result of customer requests for the Easter egg to appear on the shelves. David Marshall, from the Meaningful Chocolate Company, has said, “When we launched the Real Easter Egg eight years ago, our hope was that major retailers would stock The Real Easter Egg. ASDA is the fourth major retailer to come on board. This year we expect to distribute more than 250,000 Easter stories in our eggs. “It was quite a surprise to discover that nearly 60% of under 24-year-olds do not connect Jesus with Easter. There’s an opportunity for those over 50 to buy a Real Easter Egg and pass on knowledge of the festival to younger parents and grandchildren.” The Real Easter Egg is available online or from larger branches of Tesco, ASDA, Waitrose, Morrisons and independent shops and online retailers.
