The following information is shared on behalf of Waterways Chaplaincy...

Waterways chaplaincy is a growing ecumenical national ministry aiming to supplement the work of local churches by reaching out pastorally to people involved in any way with life on our canals and rivers.

We are currently expanding our volunteer chaplains’ network in Doncaster, Rotherham, East Yorkshire, Sheffield, Lincoln and the Nottingham area and associated rivers and canals.

Chaplains are both ordained and lay, and no experience of boating is required as training will be given.

The taster day will be held on Monday, 8th October 2018 (10am–3.30pm) at Retford & Worksop Boat Club, The Wharf, Retford Road, Retford DN22 9AJ.

If you are interested in becoming a waterways chaplain, or would like to come along and hear about our work, please contact either Angie Baldwin (Team Leader; M: 07771 43 80 62) or Debbie Nouwen (Deputy Senior National Waterways Chaplain, North of England & Midlands; M: 07909 14 96 64).
