The third Big Church Read will start on Monday 24th May when everyone involved will be reading 'How to Pray' by Pete Greig. The Big Church Read is a partnership between St Andrews Christian Bookshop (based in Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire) and Hodder and Stoughton, a publisher of Christian books and the NIV Bible. 

The other books that have been read, or are coming up later this year, as part of the Big Church Read are:

1st book - The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer
2nd Book - Singing in Babylon by Jeff Lucas 
3rd Book - How to Pray by Peter Greig (Monday 24th May)
4th Book - Bouncing Forward by Patrick Regan with Liza Hoeksma (Wednesday 8th September to Wednesday 17th November)

St Andrews bookshop undertook a survey of participants from The Big Church Read and below are the three key findings.

  • 2026 places (villages, towns and cities) have taken part in a Big Church Read
  • 100% of people who do not normally manage to read the whole book said they completed it whilst on The Big Church Read
  • 25% of people who took part said they do not normally read Christian books
