Richard Steel, Mission Team Leader, is running a Diocesan-wide online version of the Bible Society’s Bible Course via Zoom.

  • The Bible Course helps you see how the books of the Bible are part of one big story.
  • Using a unique storyline, The Bible Course will show you how key events, books and characters fit together.
  • The video teaching, course guide and daily readings will help you grow in confidence as you read the Bible for yourself.
  • Acts as a great follow-on resource for those who have done introductory courses like Alpha and Christianity Explored.

Richard said: “I have found the Bible fascinating from my teens, and the more I learn, the more interesting, and valuable, I find it. As a trained Archaeologist I particularly like learning about the cultural and historical context, which helps me understand it better and see its relevance for today.

“Whenever I have run courses on the Bible before it has come alive to people in a new way. This new version of the course makes the overarching story of the Bible even clearer, seeing how the very different books fit together and reveal more and more of God."

The sessions will begin next month with weekly afternoon sessions from Wednesday 8th July and evening ones from Thursday 9th July.

The ideal would be for people to gather together a group in the parish, with a local leader, as between sessions people are encouraged to keep in touch with other members of their group. Individuals though are very welcome to join in and it may also be possible to run a Facebook Live group too for those who don’t use Zoom.

To book a place, or discuss how your parish might take part, please contact Richard on 07720 740955 or by e-mail at: [email protected]
