Belonging: Let's Talk About Race With Guest Speaker: Ben Lindsay

Wednesday October 6th 2021 via Zoom 11am – 1pm with Plenary from 2pm – 3pm

Ben founded ‘Power the Fight’, a charity launched in 2019 to train and empower communities to end youth violence. One of The Evening Standard’s Progress 1000 London’s most influential people for 2018, Ben is an experienced trainer with more than 19 years spent working with high risk young people in the field of gangs and serious youth violence. He is also the author of: ‘We Need to Talk About Race: Understanding the Black Experience in White Majority Churches’. He will share with us the lived experiences of the black and brown minority culture, and help us to consider tangible next steps to reflecting the diverse people we serve. Together, we will look at invisible barriers that stop racial diversity and inclusion becoming a reality and explore: Bias, Pathways to leadership, Racial Microaggressions, Integration Fatigue, and Impostor Syndrome.
