All Saints church were concerned about the impact of the rising cost of living on those who were most vulnerable in our community.  In September they began a community knitting and crochet project, they received donations of hundreds of balls of wool and volunteers took part in making blankets.  On Saturday 26th November they had a ‘Sew-Up Saturday’ putting together the blankets and preparing them ready for distribution.

The response has been overwhelming, with so many people taking part and contributing from All Saints Church and the wider community

Over 60 blankets have been made and they will be given out with the Christmas boxes from Holbeach Community Larder, reaching the most vulnerable in our communities.

Reverend Sherine Angus, Priest in Charge at All Saints Church, Holbeach said

'Our blanket project has brought the community together far beyond my expectations. To see people contributing, laughing and sharing stories as they knitted and the generosity of those who have given yarn and time has been truly inspiring. Thank you to all who have taken part to support those who are vulnerable in our community.'
