This email communication has been sent to all licensed Active Clergy, clergy who hold the bishop's Permission to Officiate, Retired Clergy, Readers, Authorised Lay Ministers, Churchwardens, Lay Chairs, PCC Secretaries, and the members of the Bishop’s Council of Diocesan Trustees.

Dear colleagues

We continue to try and bring you the most up to date and relevant information as we can in these emails. Please be assured of our prayers and thanks for the many ways in which ministry, by both the lay and the ordained, occurs across the diocese including parishes, schools, chaplaincy and Edward King House. In today's email there is information on the Clergy Gathering which we warmly encourage you to put in your diary if possible. There are also attachments to this email with an offering from Leading your Church into Growth (LyCiG) on lockdown evangelism that you may find useful, information on email scams from Lincolnshire Police and a link to some possible sources of community funding that parishes may be eligible for.

Local Schools

In the past week the return to schools this week for some year groups has been in the news headlines. We would encourage you to be mindful of your own local schools and the work of staff to prepare for students returning and the fact that schools have operated throughout the lockdown for some children. Please remember to show your support in some way if possible.

Sing a New Song: Our Virtual Clergy Gathering: 18-19 June 2020

As we mentioned early last month, we will be holding our Clergy Gathering, all-be-it in a virtual format.  Now over a two day period, from 10am on Thursday 18th – 4.15pm on Friday 19th June, there will be timetable of events bound together by a new theme which will help us to focus on how we might ‘Sing a New Song’ in these uncertain, and yet opportunity-filled, times. The offering will include retreat-style addresses, several workshops, the themes of which have been shaped both by ideas from the Archdeaconry meetings in which so many of you participated, and from the Gathering Steering Group. The days will be interspersed with worship, virtual drinks, and hopefully even a link to a comedy set, so that amid the learning there is also some laughter.

As with last year's Gathering, whether to participate is entirely left to your own choice; join in with as much or as little, or indeed none of the programme as you wish.  The full timetable will be sent to you next week, but we wanted to ask again that you keep those two dates free.
