Read the storyThe Diocese of Lincoln’s Safeguarding Team are looking to shape the future care and support for survivors of church-based abuse and harm.
This is an opportunity for survivor voices to contribute to safeguarding practice development.
Initially the group will be for up to 8 local survivors of abuse connected to the Church of England.
Confidentiality will be a central priority in the focus group and the final strategy will not identify anyone.
The focus group is due to run for 4 months beginning in March 2025.
The group will be facilitated in a trauma-informed, person-centred way and will be facilitated by the Diocese of Lincoln’s safeguarding advocate (Gemma Marks-Good) and a clinical lead from a local counselling agency..
It will be a closed group for the duration of the work on the survivor strategy.
All potential participants will be offered an initial meeting by the Diocese of Lincoln’s Survivor Advocate to discuss their expression of interest, what is involved and any support needs.
There will be online meetings at the beginning and end of the focus group. Participants will be asked if they wish to be identifiable or visible during these meetings, to ensure participants are as comfortable as possible.
If you would like to be involved or would like to hear more about this opportunity, please email our gemma.marks-good@lincoln.anglican.org
Gemma would be delighted to meet with you to discuss what would be involved.
