Introducing our new Warden of the College of St Hugh We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Revd Canon Dr Hugh Jones as Warden of the College of St Hugh. Canon Jones is currently incumbent of St Nicholas, Newport with St Mary Magdalen in Lincoln and Rural Dean of the Christianity Deanery. In his announcement to the parish on Sunday Canon Jones said: It is with a combination of sadness and joy that I am announcing that I have been appointed Warden of the College of St Hugh. The sadness comes because I have had nearly 8 years of very happy ministry at St Nicholas, and that will be finishing at the end of December. The joy comes because I passionately believe in the vision of the College that I will be working to establish - a resource for learning about our faith and equipping us for ministry and mission that is for every Christian person in our Diocese. It is an enormous privilege to be asked to lead this exciting and strategically vital initiative. David Dadswell, the Diocesan Secretary, adds: We are really pleased that Hugh has agreed to lead the College of St Hugh. He brings an academic pedigree, a credibility from successful parish ministry, a strong, personal faith and an understanding of the vision behind Time to Change – Together and the massive changes we are undertaking as a diocese. With his commitment to discipleship development, team working, inclusion and teaching the faith, I am looking forward to his work with the bishops and archdeacons, the Mission, Ministry and Lincoln School of Theology team and the people and clergy of our parishes in shaping and forming the College of St Hugh as the engine behind getting us where we are aiming to go as a diocese. Hugh has a background in Psychology with a DPhil in Developmental and Child Psychology. He is a well-qualified musician and worked as civil servant before ordination. In addition to his parish work he is a tutor in Theology at Bishop Grosseteste University.
