Mission Team Leader Richard Steel played host to twenty cyclists yesterday who are cycling from Canterbury to York (that’s 300 miles!) raising money for the charity Toucan.
Toucan was developed by FamilyLife UK which works to strengthen families in the UK.  It has developed an app that aims to build friendship and intimacy, deepen communication between couples and enable them to resolve conflicts in a healthy way.  The app features interviews with real couples and has bite-sized video content on a variety of different topics. The cycling team hope to raise £35,000 towards the app. Each cyclist is paying their own way so all donations go towards the cause.
Richard was made aware of the cycle ride through a family connection and organised for them to have a much-needed lunch break in the cathedral and a tour of the building. A quick photo opportunity was grabbed on the turning circle at Edward King House and then they were off again.
They have a blog of their journey with guest writer Suki the dog (pictured) which you can follow at https://familylifeuk.org/c2y/
