News and events Stories News from Edward King House - January 2019 We have recently welcomed some new members of staff to the team at Edward King House. Liz Brown, Interim Diocesan Director of Ordinands (part-time). Liz has taken on this role following Jeffrey Heskins’ departure, and she will be in position until a permanent appointment is made later this year. Her working days are Monday and Tuesday, as she combines this role with parish ministry. Liz hopes that anybody who feels that God might be calling them to something new will feel able to get in touch for a chat, either with her or someone from the vocations team. Whatever it is that you believe God might be calling you to, Liz and the vocations team will be happy to hear from you to help you explore them. Sarah Spencer, Discipleship in the World Officer. Sarah's role is to encourage people to live out their faith every day, putting what they believe into practice in their daily lives. This includes responding to Setting God’s People Free and supporting social justice projects, helping to translate hopes into reality. Sarah is part of the mission team, and she works Monday to Friday, with flexibility over some evenings and weekends. Hugo Cobham and Jane Hodgson have both been appointed as Stewardship Officers. Hugo and Jane are the first point of contact for anything to do with stewardship (encouraging regular giving, legacies and fundraising). Jane will be looking after parishes in the northern half of the diocese, and Hugo will be serving parishes in the southern half. In addition, The Rt Revd Rob Gillion is to serve in our diocese as an Assistant Bishop. We look forward to introducing Bishop Rob in more detail in due course.
