The Lincolnshire Wolds and Coast Churches Festival starts this weekend!  Churches in the Horncastle and Bolingbroke deaneries will be open for the weekend of 3rd and 4th September and those in the Louthesk and Calcewaithe and Candleshoe deaneries will open for the weekend of 10th and 11th September.  In order to help you decide how many of the 140 churches you can visit, download the brochure from the website (https://www.lincswoldsandcoastchurches.org/) and keep an eye on the social media feeds (https://www.facebook.com/lincswoldsandcoastchurches, https://twitter.com/ChurchesFest and https://www.instagram.com/churches.festival/ ) for more information about the churches taking part.  Visitors are asked to share photographs with the hashtag #LoveLincsChurches on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  This festival presents another opportunity to celebrate the wonderful heritage of the churches in the East Lindsey area and is not to be missed! 

 

There is something for everyone: rich architecture and heritage, beautiful tranquillity and spiritually, vibrant exhibitions and music as well as a welcoming oasis of peace and spirituality.  Numerous exciting activities are being staged to whet your appetites, from flower and art displays to exhibitions and guided tours.

Alternatively, if all you want is a bit of time to yourself, to relax in the quiet of a beautiful spiritual building, then make sure you choose one of the self-nominated 'quiet' churches.

 

And finally, many churches will have refreshments available to help nourish you on your visits, varying from tea, coffee and biscuits to local Lincolnshire treats.
