Sharing faith, hope and love at the Lincolnshire Show 2026
At the heart of Lincolnshire life
The diocese was at the centre of one of the county’s biggest fairs last week (Weds 17 – Thurs 18 June 2026), offering a host of hospitality and spreading the joy of the Lord to thousands of people.
The weather was warm and sunny as visitors to the show enjoyed free drinks, a dedicated reflection space, and opportunities to talk to a chaplain. It was a place filled with the Spirit and offering a safe space to simply ‘be’.
We were overjoyed to be at the centre of this vibrant time where different aspects of Lincolnshire life and a diverse range of people can come together in unity.
Joyful activities for everyone
From faith-based bracelet-making, to Goliath Lego-building, young people (and those young-at-heart!) could enjoy activities that brought plenty of fun and lots of smiles.
Swearing in of Churchwardens
The Acting Bishop of Lincoln, The Rt Revd Nick Chamberlain, the Bishop of Grimsby, The Rt Revd Jean Burgess, and the Archdeacon of Stow and Lindsey, The Venerable Eleanor Robert-Shaw, were there to greet visitors and speak with many people throughout the day.
There were also opportunities for Churchwardens to be sworn in, which Bishop Nick and Archdeacon Eleanor also officiated at.
Each day was grounded in an important time of midday prayer. They were led by The Revd Canon Hugh Jones, Warden of the College of St Hugh, and The Revd Clay Roundtree, The Diocesan Director of Ordinands and Vocations.
They helped to bring a sense of peace to otherwise busy and bustling days.
The final highlight: Hymns and Pimms
A diocesan presence would not have been the same without the much-anticipated conclusion: Hymns and Pimm’s. Adults sipped refreshing Pimms and sang songs such as ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘This little light of mine’ – it could be heard far and wide.
Children danced and played about and there was much conversation and laughter.
See you next year!
We hope to see everyone again next year and pray that those who haven’t yet visited will come and see us. We want you to be our guest!
