Ordination

What do I do if I think God is calling me to ordained ministry in the Church of England?

Maybe you have arrived on this page because you may have a sense of something happening to you which has made you wonder if you are being called to ordained ministry in the Church of England.

You might be unsure of this, perhaps thinking that you are not good enough, or that God only calls other people but not someone like you. You might even wonder if you are going slightly mad. It might all be a bit confusing.

This section of the website is not quite a helpline but it is here to let you know that whatever you are feeling, there are good people you can talk to and ways of testing whatever it is you are sensing.

You might be someone who already belongs to a local church. If you are, you may already have spoken to the priest or minister who helps lead the church. If you have, that is a good thing.

But you might be someone who has been away from church for a long time or someone who has felt close to God but not to the Church and still needs to explore these feelings. That is okay too, but there may need to be further conversations.

Explore what might be happening and introducing you to the discernment processes which might help you work some things out. There are others who help me in this and, together, through a sequence of meetings, conversations and finally interviews we will try and help you navigate the way to whatever God is calling out of you.
