New Policy & Guidance on Permission to Officiate (PTO)
There is currently a new national policy for PTO being rolled out in the Church of England on a trial basis. We are currently in the process of implementing this in the Diocese of Lincoln. Please use the links below to read the Policy and Guidance Documents:

The Rt Revd Dr Nicholas Chamberlain
Bishop of Grantham and Acting Bishop of Lincoln
As Acting Bishop of Lincoln, Bishop Nicholas is providing oversight and leadership for the whole Diocese.
As Bishop of Grantham, his main responsibilities include:
- Pastoral Oversight of Boston, Lincoln, North Kesteven, South Kesteven and South Holland (Elloes) Deanery Partnerships
- Strategic Oversight of Ministry
- Diversity and Inclusion Lead on Bishop’s Staff

The Rt Revd Jean Burgess
Bishop of Grimsby

Bishop Jean’s main responsibilities are:
- Pastoral oversight for the north of the Diocese, comprising the Deanery Partnerships of North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, East Lindsey and West Lindsey
- Strategic oversight of Mission and Evangelism
- Chair of the Diocesan Board of Education

The Revd Nick Nawrockyi
Head of the Bishop’s Office
As Head of the Bishops’ Office, Nick provides a wide range of support for the Bishops in their ministry and leadership of the diocese. He oversees the day-to-day work of the Bishops’ Office and its staff, and advises the Bishops on pastoral, strategic, and theological matters, as well as safeguarding and disciplinary issues. As chaplain, Nick supports the Bishops in their praying and worshipping life, and manages the chapel at Edward King House. He is a bridge and ambassador between the Bishops and the wider diocese, and is a resource for ministers and parishes.

Georgie Kirchen

Bishops’ Diaries

As EA, Georgie has a key responsibility for overseeing the diaries of the Bishops and their Head of Office. She arranges meetings and events, liaises with ministers and church officers to organise services around the diocese, and responds to invitations and requests for the Bishops’ time.

Hayley’s main responsibilities are providing the wide range of operational support for the Bishops of Lincoln, Grantham and Grimsby, and the Bishop’s Senior Chaplain; managing the Bishops’ and the Office’s finances; and coordinating the Bishops’ hospitality. She has oversight responsibility for various systems and processes, including clergy files and records maintenance.

Alice Rooks
PA to the Bishop of Grantham and Administrator in the Bishops’ Office

Alice works closely with Bishop Nicholas, providing administrative support and acting as a point of contact for people and parishes in the South of the diocese. As a member of the Bishops’ Office team, Alice is also responsible for coordinating Bishops’ hospitality, handling correspondence, and maintaining Clergy Personal Files and other records. Alice also manages applications for Permissions to Administer the elements of Communion.

Isabel Bell
PA to the Bishop of Grimsby and Administrator in the Bishops’ Office

Isabel works closely with Bishop Jean, providing administrative support and acting as a point of contact for people and parishes in the North of the diocese. As a member of the Bishops’ Office team, Isabel also manages the applications and processes for Permission to Officiate (PTO) for clergy, alongside the administration of our finances, and support work for the Ministerial Development Review (MDR) programme for clergy.
